As a former Ofsted HMI (Her Majesty’s Inspector) I, like most people who are, or have been Ofsted inspectors, have a good working knowledge of safeguarding and how to inspect it. However, I recognise that I am not an expert per se in the field.  So, in my current role as a FE and Skills Consultant, I have always referred any provider wanting specialist safeguarding advice and training to The Safeguarding Consultant whom I know from Gill's time being in charge of student services in an Ofsted grade 1, outstanding college.
